The type of parquet manufactured is lamel parquet. Lamel parquet is composed of small lamels i.e. strips of wood laid in parallel and, under specific conditions (temperature and pressure), glued to a fabric mesh. Individual lamels are usually from 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide and from 10 to 16 cm long, combined to make square mats. In manufacturing lamel parquet the same oak is used as for traditional parquet, only that use is more cost-effective, which in turn is reflected in the price of the product. Lamels are between 5 and 10 mm thick. Owing to its reduced thickness lamel parquet is suitable for renovating homes, just like laminate and panel parquet. It is glued on the entire mat surface to dry and firm bases. It is usually sanded and lacquered in three goes to achieve superb shine and smoothness.
